My passions and experiences in all the arts: theatre, music, dance as well as the visual arts is the most significant impetus in all my creations. The direction I follow is to use these memories and emotions to create an explosion of color and design. Although my love for creating abstracts is very strong, I teach realism, impressionism and contemporary painting in acrylics and watercolor.
Since the age of twelve my dream was to be a performing artist and a painter. At the University of Miami, Coral Gables, I continued painting, taking theatre courses and received a BA degree. I also studied with Terry Madden (watercolor) and the Bob Ross group (oil) plus other well known artists. From 1972-1992 I was the founder-publisher-editor of Sunshine Artist magazine. My creations have been in several galleries, and I have exhibited at mall and outdoor art shows. Over the years my paintings have strengthened and become more dramatic, yet retain the rich vibrant colors I see everywhere. I continue to explore, learn and teach. Struggles, tears, defeats are also expressed in my work but seldom over-shadow the joy of life. No matter what the future holds in this economy and turmoil all over the world, we must hold up our heads and go on. Without art, there is nothing!
